Tapping God’s Healing Power
I am strongly impressed of God to write this article on tapping God’s healing power. This message is especially for believers. My desire is to turn your attention to a simple way of receiving healing that every Christian can tap into. Jesus does not want his body sick. See 3 John 2; Matthew 8:3. Do you know of any normal person who wants his hands, feet or eyes to be sick? Well, we are the body of Christ and he does not want us to be sick.
Isaiah 53:5 Says, But He was wounded for our transgression, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed. And Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Jesus is the same for all generations. He was the healer in times past and He is the same healer today. Praise God!
Healing always has some connection to faith, and, it can be the faith of the person praying and/or the faith of the person receiving. One of the first records of healing in the bible is in Genesis 17:16; where, God told Abraham that his wife Sarah will have a son. Now Sarah was barren and past the age of childbearing, so the only way that would have been possible was for God to heal Sarah’s womb and work a miracle in her body.
At first, Abraham was discouraged about the situation because he did not see how it was possible for Sarah to bear. In Genesis 15:2 and 3 he told God that he was childless and that the inheritor (heir) of his material wealth would be an Egyptian. Later, in Genesis 17:18, Abraham suggested to God that Ishmael, whom he produced with Agar the Egyptian maid, was the solution to the bareness of Sarah. Abraham finally believed God and responded by circumcising his household. In Genesis 21 we see the manifestation of that which Abraham believed for; Sarah conceived at the age of ninety years and bore a son. The boy was named Isaac (laughter).
This miracle and healing was truly a journey for Abraham. He is shown as the man of faith but we must not forget that it began as a journey for him. He stuck with the program against all odds and he saw the manifestation at last.
You may be going through a trial in the form of a sickness and God will see you through but you need to stick with His word. (And this should not prevent you from doing what is physically necessary to maintain your Health) Abraham had a similar challenge when God told him that he was going to have a son. Abraham had to change from having no faith for this miracle, to enough faith to receive it, and, he finally received it in Genesis 21:2. What made the difference? God’s word found place in his heart. This is the key to receive our healing. God’s word must find place in our hearts. Psalms 107:20 says, “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from all their destructions.”
I am not suggesting that you have to wait as long as Abraham for your healing to manifest. You can receive your healing in minutes, hours, days or weeks. Yes, you may be believing God for your healing today but my question to you is, what word of God are you standing on? If you do not have any you need to find some. Abraham positioned himself to hear the word of God in Genesis 12:2; 13:15/16; 15:4/5, 13-16, 18; 17:2-9, 15-19, 21; 21:1-3, he was in tune with God’s voice. We can be in tune with God’s voice of healing by searching His word for healing scriptures.
This method of healing can be termed tapping into God’s healing power. In other words, we may say, ever increasing healing faith, or developing in healing faith. And this method is available to every child of God. There are different levels of faith, and, each of us will operate at one these levels in relation to healing. The bible speaks of; no faith, weak faith, little faith, increasing faith, strong in faith, great faith, full of faith and the gift of faith. Yes, each of us can be identified with one of these levels. The good news is that you can increase your faith level, for healing, if it is weak. The way you do so is by filling your heart and spirit on what the bible says about healing. You will need to fill your spirit with healing scriptures. It is on God’s word of healing that your faith will grow.
I was listening to a tape of Brother Kenneth Hagin who has gone to be with our Lord. On the tape he said something that really enlightened me. He said that Jesus appeared to him in a vision and told him that He (Jesus), did not put the gifts of healing and the working of miracles in the church for the church to heal herself with, but rather, He (Jesus), has placed the gifts of healing and the working miracles in the church for the church to heal the world with. The Church, or believers, or the body of Christ must study, know, and take hold of the Word of God and be healed. This is an explanation why many believers/preachers who operate in the gifts of the spirit may not be healed by those gifts. It is not the only reason why they might not receive their healing but it can be one.
We do know that our God can heal in whatever way he chooses, and that no one has all the answers to healing. But every believer needs to know how stand on God’s word and be healed. This is what this article is about.
I repeat, it is every believer’s responsibility to know what the word of God says about healing and, with that knowledge arise and enforce it. Why wait for a special manifestation of healing when there is one available on your tongue. That is the way I take my healing; I confess what the word says about healing and hold on to it. Yes, it may take a little time and I may have to come in agreement with someone but that agreement is based on the word of God. Every believer can do that.
The word of faith is in our mouth. The word of healing is in our mouth. The way to release it is to speak it. As we speak the word of healing we are bringing our minds and hearts in alignment with God’s word so that His healing power can work. God’s healing will not work if we are filled with doubt and unbelief. Speaking God’s Word destroys unbelief.
Here are ten passages of scripture that release healing and destroy unbelief. You may confess these and all other scriptures you desire.
1/ Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases. Psalm 103:1-3
2/ And behold, there came a leper and worshipped, Him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth His hand, and touched him, saying, ‘I will; be thou clean.’ And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:2-3.
3/ So Abraham prayed unto God; and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his made servants; and they bare children Genesis 20:17
4/ And when Jesus was come to Peter’s home, He saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And He touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose and ministered unto them. When even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8:14-17
5/ But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.
6/ James 5:14-17 says, is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
7/ Then went he (Naaman) down, and dipped himself, seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God, and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean. 2Kings 5:14
8/ Who His own self bore our sins in His own body on a tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
9/ And Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass that, if the serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of bronze, he lived. Numbers 21:9
10/ And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse. When she had heard of Jesus came in the press behind. For she said, if I may touch His clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned about in the crowd, and said, who touched my clothes? And His disciples said unto Him, thou seest the multitude crowding thee and sayest thou, who touched me? And He looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth. And He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well. Go in peace, and be well of thy plague. Mark 5:25-34.
I really love this story about this woman with the issue of blood; in fact, it is one of my favorite sermons. This woman said something that was consistent with God’s word (…I shall be whole.), and, she held on to it even though the circumstances were against her. Jesus declared her whole because of her faith. “…Daughter, thy faith hath made thee well.”
Please let me come in agreement with you for your healing. Insert your name and sickness in the Blank and, remain in faith until it manifests. (You may choose not to believe, the choice is yours)
Father, in the name of Jesus we come in agreement for the healing of _____ _____ body from _____ (sickness) in the _____(organ). Your word says if two shall agree as touching anything that they shall ask; it shall be done for them of my father in heaven. Your word also says that Christ Himself bore our sins on His own body on a tree that we being dead to sins might live unto righteousness by whose stripes we were healed. So we declare that the healing is done in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Find someone and begin to testify. You may need to read this article and make the confession many times. Remember that healing faith works with consistency of speech –keep confessing God’s word.
Praise the Lord!
I am asking you to sow a generous financial seed into this ministry. God will multiply the seed you sow. Luke 6:38, says “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
