Prayer Enlightenment

Prayer is inviting God to work in our situations. This is necessary because when Adam and Eve sinned, in Genesis chapter 3 they rejected God and invited the devil into their affairs. Because they were the only humans on the planet, the devil got access into human affairs.

We are encouraged to ask, seek and knock so that God can show his mighty power in our lives; Matthew 7:7. There are many different types of prayer. Three examples are the prayer of repentance, the prayer of faith and the prayer of thanksgiving. The most important of these is the prayer of repentance. Everyone has to pray this prayer in order to establish a relationship with God. Jesus related a beautiful parable showing how to begin this relationship in Luke 18: 9-14.

Romans 10:9, says very clearly, what we need to do and say in order to make an acceptable confession. It says, “That if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shall be saved.” If you have never prayed the prayer of repentance stop and do so before you do anything else. This prayer connects us to the spirit of God and gives us the right to son-ship and eternal life.

The Prayer of repentance:

Father, In Jesus name I ask that you forgive me of all my sins. I receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of my life and confess that by His Precious blood that He shed on the cross I am free. I further believe that He arose from the dead and is my one and only Savior. Thank you father in Jesus name, Amen! Romans 10:13

Prayer is the practice of the presence of God. It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7

Father, in Your mercy, hear our prayers.
